The 1.7m x 2.4m Molucca rug is a multicolour wool floor covering measuring L 170 x W 240 cm. Its generous rectangular surface helps define a seating area, add colour beneath a dining table or bring a softer visual layer to a bedroom, home office or open-plan living space.

Wool rug for everyday room styling

Wool gives this rug a natural textile surface with a tactile feel underfoot. The multicolour design introduces several tones at once, making it easier to connect existing upholstery, timber finishes and decorative accents without relying on one exact colour match.

Use it to anchor furniture rather than leaving pieces visually scattered across a large floor. In a condo, apartment or house, placing the front legs of a sofa or armchairs on the rug can create a clearer conversation area while adding definition to an open room.

Where a 170 x 240 cm rug fits

The rectangular footprint suits common living-room layouts, including a sofa with a coffee table and occasional chairs arranged around it. It can also sit beneath a dining table, provided you measure the table and allow enough surrounding space for chairs to move in and out without catching the rug edge.

For a bedroom, position it beside or partly beneath the bed according to the available floor area. In a home office, it can visually separate the desk zone from the rest of the room; keep chair movement and door clearance in mind before placing it.

Multicolour pattern for coordinating furniture

A multicolour rug can act as a visual link between neutral and patterned furnishings. Pick one quieter tone from the design for nearby cushions or curtains, or keep the surrounding pieces simple so the floor covering remains the main source of colour.

The broad surface is also useful in open-plan homes where the living and dining areas share one room. Placing it within one zone helps mark that area without installing a physical divider or changing the flooring.

Fully assembled and ready to place

This rug arrives fully assembled, so there is no frame, fitting or construction work before use. Unpack it, allow it to settle flat, and place it in the measured area with its edges clear of doors and high-traffic pinch points.

At 11.4 kg, moving it may be easier with two people, especially when positioning it on a larger floor area. Plan the route from the entrance to the room before opening the package, particularly in a lift-served apartment or a home with narrow doorways.

Day-to-day rug care in a Malaysian home

Vacuum regularly using a setting suitable for wool rugs, and deal with spills promptly by blotting rather than rubbing. Rotate the rug from time to time so normal foot traffic is spread across its surface and furniture does not remain in one position indefinitely.

In humid weather, keep the room aired and avoid trapping moisture beneath the rug. A dry, clean floor underneath makes routine care easier; lift the rug occasionally when practical to inspect the floor and let both surfaces breathe.
