Set up a place to work or study with home office furniture: office tables and study desks, bookcases, compartment file cabinets and multi-function cabinets, mostly in laminated board with walnut, grey, white and oak finishes.
Put the desk where daylight comes from the side rather than straight behind the screen, which cuts glare. Leave around 90 cm behind the desk so an office chair can roll back, and keep a power point within reach of the cable holes or the back edge of the table.
Keep what you use daily close at hand, such as a mobile pedestal under the desk and a low multi-function cabinet beside it. Files and books you reach for less often can go in a tall file cabinet or bookcase on another wall, fixed to the wall if it stands above head height.
If the room doubles as a guest or family room, matching finishes keep it looking tidy; the Eco range, for instance, covers office tables, file cabinets and a multi-function cabinet. Pick one main colour, such as walnut or grey, and repeat it across each piece.
